01Airport Arrival

Check in at the airline check-in counter

  • Passengers who have arrived at the passenger terminal building will first go through check-in at the corresponding airline’s check-in counter.
All items that cannot be carried on board the flight cabin must be checked-in at the counter and be processed through baggage consignment, and only items within 55cm wide, 40cm long, 20cm high (within a total of 115cm), and that weigh within 10kg are allowed to be carried onto the cabin.
  • At this point, items that may threaten air safety & security cannot be consigned as checked baggage.
Furthermore, according to government policy all international flight passengers as well as passengers who are departing from or transiting through our country are restricted from carrying liquids onto the cabins. Therefore international flight passengers should place any liquids(beverages, food, toothpaste, lotion, hairspray, etc.) in their bags and consign them as checked baggage so they may be transported via the airline.

Keep the following in mind when packing your bags!

  • For safe travels pack your bags as conveniently as possible. In particular, only bring around 1 small bag that can fit in the shelves of the aircraft cabin. Just in case, attach a nam-e-t-ag onto the inside and outside of your bag that clearly displays your name, address, and destination in English.
  • Please carry valuables such as laptop computers, camcorders, camera, jewelry, antiques, and precious m-e-t-als with you as opposed to placing them in checked baggage. The airport authorities and airlines will not be held responsible for the loss of these kinds of items as well as gold, securities, contracts, theses, pharmaceuticals, etc., nor the resulting damages from their loss.
  • As the standards regarding the size or weight of baggage differ with each airline, please assure that your baggage does not exceed the airline’s designated size and weight restrictions, and pack contents accordingly in order to prevent damage. You must inform the airline in advance of pets or special items such as sporting equipment like bicycles and surfing boards, and account for processing time on the day of departure.
  • Generally the standard for the American area is number of bags, and the standard for other areas such as Europe is weight. Please check your travel section and boarding class.

Restricted items that cannot be carried onto the cabin

  • Multi-purpose tools(AKA Swiss Army Knife), knives, scissors, nail clippers with built-in knives, golf clubs, etc. can cause harm to other passengers and therefore have been classified as prohibited items that cannot be carried aboard the cabin. Therefore, please place these items in your checked baggage in advance or otherwise entrust them separately at the check-in counter.

Restricted items that cannot be placed in checked baggage

  • Items that are flammable or explosive such as lighters, paint, butane gas, and gas stoves are restricted items that are prohibited from the aircraft and so cannot be checked-in.
  • Items that are easily damaged such as ceramics, electronics, glassware, f-r-a-m-es, etc., and perishable foods as well as liquid or odorous goods cannot be checked-in.
